This production was a graphic interpretation of the novel by Kafka.
Adapted from Edgar Allen Poe’s story this play toured the UK in 1974, and has been produced many times since. Here is Steven Berkoff as Roderick Usher, brother of Madeline played by Shelley Lee, “The curtain of the house now becomes both an image of her winding sheet and a soft cocoon as if the bed had come to her and she spins around this wrapping until mummified.”
Hamlet began at the Roundhouse, Chalk Farm and toured Israel, Belgium and Germany.

Rena Owen from “Once Were Warriors” and Martin Csokas from “The Luminaries” starred in this Jewish comedy of anxiety. It was directed by Roger Morton and produced by Joselyn Morton for the Auckland season. In Wellington Kvetch was directed by Roger Morton and produced by Anthony McCarten, now known for “The Darkest Hour” and “The Theory of Everything” as BAFTA winning screen writer.
Kvetch directed by Roger Morton and produced by Joselyn Morton had a very successful season at the Maidment Theatre followed by a sellout season in Wellington. Starring Rena Owen of “Once Were Warriors” and Marton Csokas, now a Hollywood regular. Marton and Roger both come from Invercargill, New Zealand.
Tama Iti is one of the leads in “Meatworks the Musical” Directed by Roger Morton, written and produced by Joselyn Morton, music by Stephen Small. Performed at Sky City Theatre, Auckland New Zealand.

The unhappy husband is beset by all his worries. This is played as an inner monologue, acted out by the other participants. Very funny, directed by Roger Morton.
The boss is thinking about his lover while the husband fantasizes about killing him.
Jerome Savary’s Magic Circus was an extraordinary spectacle with drama and humour mixed. This was at the the Round House, Chalk Farm, London.
